Darius Rucker (Hootie) and Wetting the Bed

So Trisha, my sister, and I went to the Darius Rucker concert. In case you don’t know who Darius Rucker is he is Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish, but he has gone COUNTRY! I had only heard of a couple of his songs but I agreed to go because I knew it would be a fun outing plus the concert was right up the street at the Sandy Amphitheater.

Ben and Brandon, Trisha’s husband, got to talking and Brandon deciding to come up with the kids and watch the Utah vs Utah State football game at our house while Trish and I went to the concert. Brandon didn’t get the channel and he wanted to see game.

I thought it would be a brilliant idea. The boys could watch the kids and multitask and watch a little football and Trish and I would get to go to the concert. The concert was absolutely fabulous. The opening band was a group called KingBilly, which is a Country/Bluegrass/Rock group. To say the least we really enjoyed them. We tried to get their CD during the break. We waited in line but to no avail. They ran out of CDs :). Obviously they didn’t expect to come away with so many followers in Utah. Hopefully, they will update their website soon so that I can buy their CD. For now I will have to deal with the free download.

The Darius Rucker concert was absolutely amazing. I was able to get some amazing country music along with some good old Hootie and the Blowfish songs. Now what could be better! In the middle of the concert I get this text from Ben. Here is our texting conversation --

Ben: Zach wet the bed

Me: Ha ha ha. Why doesn’t he have a diaper on? Did you put on new sheets?

As a side note it was about 9:00 p.m. and Trish and I both thought that he would have been in Bed.

Ben: He was watching cars and Brandon hadn’t changed him yet. It was on your side so I didn’t change the sheets. ;)

Don’t I just love my sarcastic husband.

Me: Thanks hun :) was it just the sheets or do we need to clean the blanket too?

Ben: Blanket, sheets, and pad

It was a good thing we ended up buying that mattress pad. Who would have known that it would have come in handy this early?

Me: Sweet. Not the comforter right?

Ben: Nope

Ben: And your pillowcase

Me: Are you serious?

Ben: Yes. He got it on your pillowcase :)

Me: Not on the pillow right?

Ben: No

I’m not quite sure how it is possible to get my pillowcase piddled upon and not the pillow. I am a bit skeptical about using this said pillow. I have been trying to make the transition over to a new pillow but it is too fluffy and I have been trying to break it in. I guess I will finally need to take the plunge.

Needless to say Trish and I were just laughing during the concert over the whole entire fiasco. Trisha did apologize profusely but I just thought it was funny. It is a good thing that I love my little nephew so much, plus it just makes a quite humorous story.

When we got home from the concert both kids were still awake. I guess Zach couldn’t go to sleep with his fiasco and all and Halle just was in no mood to go to bed. I guess she just wanted to take in the beauty of our apartment and she didn’t want to go to sleep.

They left soon after we got home because the kids were exhausted and needed to go to bed. Overall it was a great night and it was way fun to get out and go to a concert with my sister. Ben also got the best of both worlds because he got to stay home and watch football with a cute niece and nephew.

  1. Once again... I am SO sorry. You and Ben are so nice to laugh it off. I'm not sure how happy I would be if my nephew went wee wee in my bed. :D

  2. VERY funny! I would be suspicious of your pillow, though ...
