It's funny. You don't realize all the things you do with your kids until you are around other people.
Last week, I went to pick up the girls from Trisha's and I got there a bit early cause Sav had a fever and I was coming to take the girls home. As I gave Sav some medicine to relieve her fever, Halle asked me to play a game with her. I said yes and she proceeded to get out a puzzle. She said she needed help, so I began helping her put together the puzzle. She would put the pieces together and I would give her encouragement. Not too far along into the process Halle says "Mom, why does Chelle keep saying Yay?". I guess I kept saying Yay every time she put the pieces together. Of course, she kept on asking Trish why I kept on saying Yay. Trish explained that that is what you say to babies when they do something new and I've been around the girls A LOT! I did try not to say it as much but that habit is really hard to break. Guess I need to learn some new words.
The other enjoyable part of that trip was Halle telling me that I was her best friend. I'm sure she says that to everyone who comes and plays with her, but it still was super sweet.
Halle certainly tells it like she sees it. I have no doubt she really think of you as her best friend. She says exactly what she's feeling at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThe other day we were in a store and Halle loudly asked, "Why is that boy wearing girl shoes?" The man was wearing loafers. Cracked me up.
You were sweet to do the puzzle with her.
Funny. I say Yay a lot on tests for students if they do well. Hmmm . . . maybe they are thinking the same thing!
