Priceless Moment

BYU Football Tickets to the first home game: $30
Lion King Tickets: $150

The look on Ben's face when he realized they were on the SAME day: Priceless

Just thinking about this situation still makes me laugh. Ben does not see the same humor that I do, but it still is kind of funny. Others might not see the humor that I do, but I still wanted to share.

Here is how it went down.

Ben: "Guess what is in a month?"
Chelle thinks for a little bit, a big smile comes across her face
Chelle: "Lion King!"
Ben: "No, the first home football game"
Ben: "When are the Lion King tickets?"
Chelle: "The Saturday before Labor Day."
Ben: "WHAT?! That is the day of the first home football game!"
Ben: "What time is Lion King?"
Chelle: "It's a matinee. What time is the game?"

By this time Ben is pretty riled up about the matter. We found out that the game is at 5 so we will only miss the first half. Which Ben is still not super happy about, but at least we get to see part of it. Ben has already informed me that right after Lion King we are heading down to Provo and we should end up arriving there around half time.

I swear I asked Ben if we had anything going when we bought the tickets, but he can't remember me asking him. He assures me if I would have mentioned Labor day weekend he would have mentioned that we had a conflict. We bought the tickets six to seven months in advance, I honestly didn't think we would have any conflicts. The last thing on my mind was if it would conflict with football season. I know little about football or when it starts. Little did I know that EVERY year there is a home football game over Labor day weekend. I am slowly learning all the nuances of football season. Hopefully I will never make that mistake again otherwise I will have a really unhappy Ben.

I still think the whole scenario is kind of funny, but Ben still fails to see the humor. It still hits too close to home that he has to miss part of the game :(.

  4. What a good sport he is, and he will get to have the best of both worlds, Lion King, home football, and the best and cutest wife in the world! (even if she gently laughs a little at the irony!)
