It is great to have Ben back. For the majority of the summer we haven't really done too much because Ben has been busily studying for the Bar. With the Bar now past us, we went to see a movie. There have been a few movies that Ben and I wanted to see but just didn't have time. We decided to go see Inception. We absolutely loved this movie. I really want to see it again to see if I can catch some things that I didn't catch before.
That weekend Ben and I also went on a picnic. Our picnic was by no means extravagant but it was just fun to be able to sit outside and relax and talk. The park we went to was so pretty. There were huge fields to play soccer, tennis courts, big hills for sledding or ice blocking, and a playground. Ben and I just talked and enjoyed being outdoors since Ben has been stuck inside the majority of the summer.

We also ate tons of treats, by tons I mean two. Kristana, Ben's sister, brought us over Rhubarb crisp. It was so yummy! I had never had Rhubarb crisp before but it was so tasty. Greg, my brother, brought us raspberries from my parents garden. At first I wanted to make a raspberry pie because Ben had never had one of those before. I then realized that we don't have a pie tin at our apartment. We have a ton stuff stored at my parents house but there is no room in our small apartment. I then thought about buying a pie tin, but then I realized that I have never made a pie crust before. I called my mom and she said that I should wait and try it once I learned how to make a pie crust. Alas, I decided to do a raspberry cheesecake instead. The recipe that I tried was VERY involved. I had to mix the batter at 3 different speeds and cook it at 3 different temperatures. Overall I think the cheesecake turned out very well. You will have to imagine what it looks like with the raspberries on top since I didn't take a picture of that.
Ben got a job with a firm in downtown Salt Lake! The first three months are probationary. If after the three months are up and the attorney that Ben works with likes his work then he will stay on with that firm. He started last week and has been enjoying it. I think he likes having something to do everyday besides chilling at home. We are super excited about the job and we hope that it will work out.
Congrats on the end of the exam and the beginning of a new job! Ashley lives in SLC now too, you should look her up and make her go do something with you. Email me if you want her phone or address.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Ben! I laughed when you said you made cheesecake instead of pie... I have never attempted cheesecake cause it looks WAY too difficult! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteWe're really happy for you guys to be done with school and that Ben is back in the real world. Not that we know what world Ben's mind really exists in! All your hard work is paying off!!
