Real Salt Lake Game

I know...who would be posting about Halloween about a week later? I would :) I totally forgot to post our fun pictures from Halloween. On Friday when I got home from work I was looking at facebook and I realized a mutual friend was asking if anybody wanted FREE tickets to the Real Salt Lake playoff game for Saturday afternoon (Halloween). For those of you who don't know Real Salt Lake is a Major League soccer team whose arena is in Sandy.

Ben and I didn't have any plans and so Ben responded saying that we wanted them, if she hadn't already given them away. It turned out that she had already given away her tickets, but her friend still had 4 tickets that he was trying to give away. (Her and her friend worked for Xango the sponsor of the Real Salt Lake). We snatched up all four and we were determined to find someone to go with us. I swear we called everyone in the area that we knew of. It turns out that Halloween afternoon is a pretty popular time and thus no one could go with us :( We gave the two tickets back to the guy so he could find a happy owner.

The game was fabulous! They played the Columbus Crew, who were number 1 in the East. The RSL managed to score with about 7 minutes left. It was a fantastic ending to the day. The other funny part is that the stadium wasn't even half way full. We had tickets in the upper tier so they moved us down to the lower tier so the stadium would look fuller. I also saw my Uncle Norm, Cousin Sam, and his son Jake. It was good to see them, I hadn't seen them in such a long time. Here is a few pictures from the game.

Look at how empty the stadium is. I guess it doesn't help that it was on Halloween.
Ben and I at the game, plus the annoying guys behind us who knew nothing about soccer. I don't think they enjoyed the game, as you can see from the phone being out. They were about as funny as a couple of seventh-grade hooligans.

  1. That pic is a great pic of you two! There really weren't that many people, but nice that you were able to move down!

  2. Wish I lived closer, or that Ashley and Brandon lived closer. BJ took Ashley to a game when he lived in Salt Lake, it was a highlight for them both. Way to score a fun afternoon out!
