On Saturday night, we went to Cornbelly's corn maze in Lehi. I felt like a little kid because I was so excited to go. The one thing I was worried about was the fact that Cornbelly's became haunted at night. When we arrived we bought our tickets and headed to the corn maze. To my pleasant surprise the actual corn maze wasn't haunted. Other activities around Cornbelly's were but I wasn't too disappointed about the corn maze. It was so much fun to wander around the corn maze trying to find your way out. I think corn mazes are so much more fun when you don't have to worry about someone popping out trying to scare you as you turn the corner. Next time I need to remember to bring a flash light.
Then we went to a haunted activity. Basically it was this big animal that you walked into the mouth. It was pretty cool. It was inflated and it actually looked like it was breathing. As we neared the front, I informed Ben that he would be the one to lead as we walked into the mouth of the monster. He laughed but I informed him that I was serious. Ben doesn't get scared too easily and if he does he just slightly jumps but I would be unaware of him jumping because I would only notice my own fear. As you walk in you see all these inflatable organs, we saw the heart, and the little dangly thing in the mouth. That would be the "uvula," Michelle. As we rounded the corner a guy jumped out, but he got to Ben first thus, I was only tense. I think the thing that scared me the most was when I realized he was still following us. I know for sure I would have been a ton more frightened if Ben wasn't with me and if I was leading. Good thing I have a husband who pities me and will go first. Courtesy of Cornbelly's website, here is a hand drawn picture of the creature.

After, the creature we then found yet another haunted activity Cornophobia. By this time I wasn't quite sure I wanted to do another haunted activity. The Creature had been enough, my heart was already pounding. We had to wait in line for about 1/2 an hour just to get into Cornophobia. Basically what it is you walk on this path through the corn and things/people jump out at you. I know it truly sounds fun (sense the sarcasm). I kept on imagining that I would not be safe. Yes, I could technically have Ben go first, but they could be on either side of the corn. And why would the scare a guy when they could scare the girl that he was with. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Yes, I did jump and tense up but I didn't scream. I think that was partially due to the fact that we ran into a large group that kept stopping for random reasons. One scary part was getting on this abandoned bus in the middle of the corn. So you walk through this bus and of course you know someone is on the bus, but luckily as Ben and I were walking through the bus Ben set his hand on the seat and it was mushy. Turns out it wasn't the seat but the person who was supposed to scare us. It startled Ben but it didn't scare me cause Ben revealed it first. I still kept thinking someone would scare us as we got off the bus, but I was lucky cause no one did. I still kept a firm grasp on Ben as we walked through the rest of the corn. I did jump quite a few times as people/dummies would jump out of the corn or make sound. Michelle IS kind of a wuss when it comes to scary things, but I was impressed that she didn't scream once. Nothing like the blood-curdling scream from a couple of weeks ago when I surprised her in the bathroom.Overall Cornbelly's was quite fun. I think I enjoyed the corn maze the best and the carved pumpkins. So there was this huge tower of carved pumpkins. I was amazed at how talented these people were. I kept telling Ben there was no way ours would look that good (we are hopefully carving pumpkins next week).
As we were leaving I saw this cool cut out bus and I wanted Ben to be in it. Thus, you get this picture.

I am jealous. Now I want to do all that...time to convince the hubby...
ReplyDeleteCute! Those look like such fun things! We don't have really anything that cool here! I'm glad you got to go and I love HAlloween also! so fun!
ReplyDeleteWe went to cornbelly's during the day with the kids, and they were terrified of "The Creature" and so was my Dad, and there wasn't anyone jumping out! I am impressed you didn't scream!
