It has been a while since I last wrote and I really don't think that much has really happened. I am amazed at all the people who have fun and exciting things to report each week. I have since decided that Ben and I need to take more pictures of the things we do. So hopefully with the next post you will get to see some pictures.
So this past week, I got a calling in our new ward. I was a little surprised considering I had never talked to any member of the bishopric before. I guess that is a slight lie. I have talked to a member of the bishopric to get a ticket to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication. I think the extent of our conversation was him asking what our names were so he could write them on the ticket. Anyways, to say the least I was a little bit surprised when Ben motioned for me to before Relief Society began to come out into the hall. To say the least he wanted to meet with me. I thought it was weird that he didn't want to meet with Ben but I didn't say anything. We set up an appointment for the following Tuesday. All during the week I kept thinking about what could they be calling me to. I had gone over lots of callings in my heads trying to think of the pros and cons of each calling and trying to determine to what position I would be called. On Tuesday when I met with the member of the Bishopric I got called to serve on the Primary Board. In particular, I would get to help out in the Nursery each week. When I heard this I was relieved. I thought this was the best calling in the world! You have to be pretty lucky to get to go into the Nursery and play with cute little kids for two hours every Sunday.
This past Sunday was my first time in the Nursery. To say the least it was a little chaotic. All the little kids and trying to organize them all. Also, trying to convince them that they should share toys with each other. Anyways, it made me laugh! Overall, I know I am going to enjoy me new calling. I think it is nice to be needed in the ward.
Ben and I had to laugh when the Bishop set us apart. Mind you this was the first time I had officially talked to the Bishop. He was asking us how we were enjoying the ward and if we were finding our place. We kind of laughed and said that we were slowly finding our place. We don't know very many people at all in our ward. The only way I meet people is through Relief Society and occasionally people in Sunday School. Ben on the other hand only meets people through Sunday School. Our ward isn't super outgoing or welcoming of new people because they get SOOOOO many new people in their ward each month. Which makes it hard on the ward members, but it also makes it hard on the people moving in. To say the least we are slowly meeting people in the ward. I am hoping as the weeks go by we can meet some new people, but with my new calling I guess I will get to meet a ton of cute little kids :). I guess that is better than no one.
Nursery will be fun! You don't get to meet people except for like relief society enrichment and then every conversation is oh you are so and so's mom glad to put a face with a kid! Ha Ha glad you guys are doing well!
