Another week has come and gone, thank goodness!!
There are a few little things that I have definitely appreciated this past week. Who knew that having the same thing served to you everyday would get annoying (i.e., every Friday you get the exact same three meals). Well some meals weren't that good the first time, so the second time around I had a hard time eating them. On Friday for lunch I decided to switch it up. I know you are all super excited to hear what I decided to get. I got a grilled cheese sandwich with ham, fruit plate, chips (Ruffles to be exact), and a chocolate chip cookie. Oooohhh my goodness it was so tasty. I had to call Ben and tell him all about it because I was so excited for my lunch. They never give you REAL chips and it just felt so good to have a grilled cheese. It made me feel like I was home, even though they used American cheese :). Ben laughed at me when I called but I was super excited for the change up. I might have to try switching it up a bit more often because the first time worked out wonderfully!
My sister and her family came to visit on Sunday and it was definitely nice to see the kiddles. I don't think Zach was too impressed with my new digs though. He tried watching TV and was severely disappointed that the sound only came out of the remote. He spent the whole time with the remote to his ear, it was super cute. Halle on the other hand just had fun exploring my small room and playing with the things that I had received from the recreation therapist. I was just glad that someone was getting some use out of the things the recreational therapist had given me, coloring letters (A, B,C..) with flowers on them is not really my idea of fun:).
I have started reading the new Brandon Mull book and have liked it so far. The only disappointing thing is that this is the first book of a series, so now I will have to wait until the next one comes out.
In other news....Ben has officially moved us out of our apartment! He spent all day Friday and Saturday moving us. He had tons of help which was SOOOOOO appreciated since I was MIA. I felt bad having other people do so much work for us, but it was definitely appreciated and I know there would have been no way Ben could have done it on his own. Ben also informed me that our headboard is SUPER heavy and annoying. I guess taking it up a flight of stairs and around a bend wasn't so fun, who would have thought :). At least the bed is in our room and everything is situated. I'm still waiting for Ben to make a video of the house for me so I can see how everything looks. I know a ton of stuff isn't going to be unpacked until I get home, but I still want to see what the overall layout looks like.
In other news...Ben has roommates! My sister and brother-in-law have moved in with us for a few days a week. They will be staying with us until they can get into their new house. My sister stays at the house a couple of nights a week and my brother-in-law stays there about 4 nights a week. I think it is nice that Ben will have company, plus he will get to see Zach and Halle more often which is definitely a perk. Ben and Brandon, my brother-in-law, have also started talking about putting together some game nights. They figure Greg can come up and Brandon's brother can come over and they can have some wicked nights of PowerGrid or whatever game strikes their fancy. I hope they end up doing it, it would be fun for Ben to actually have some fun once in a while.
I think that about covers my fun and excitement for the week. The girls are doing well. I had my first glimpse at extended monitoring on Tuesday and have decided that that is definitely not very fun. I have told the girls that they better behave because I don't want to have to go back there too often :). Other than that life is going wonderfully and I am just counting down the weeks until I can break out of here :).
You definitely need a video of the house. It is looking great! I think you ought to order something different for EVERY meal. Mealtime has got to be a highlight of the day, so you ought to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYes, you need something different at every meal. Might as well live it up since they are cooking it for you.
ReplyDeleteIf Ben does a video, I want to see it! I'm sure the house looks great!
