Understanding the Ultrasound 101

There have been some who have been confused about what the below ultrasound shows. :) I will ease everyone's confusion by explaining said ultrasound. It is a profile of a little baby. You see the round blob on the right, is a head. The thing that looks like it is coming out of the head at the top, is really a hand near the mouth. The thing that looks like a ninety degree angle on the left blob, that's an elbow.

I have obviously looked at said picture a bit too much, but I hope this eases everyone's confusion and they can now see what the cryptic ultrasound shows :)

    I thought that's what it was. But I was thinking the hand at the top of the head was maybe a part of the second baby. :) Isn't it funny how much you can stare at those things? That little baby is living inside of you!

    It's like one of those visual effects - The ones that ask "Is it a vase or two faces?" You can't see them both at the same time.

    Now that you show it to me, it is perfectly obvious.

    Now I get the left arm and hand connection!
    It's amazing to see how tiny and yet complete a baby is at this stage.
